Brewing Tranquility: My Nightly Ritual

As the sun sets and the mundane world quiets down, the veil between our waking life and the dream realm begins to thin. For many practitioners, the hours before sleep are the most potent time for spellwork, meditation, and setting intentions for astral travel. Tonight, I want to share the cornerstone of my nighttime ritual: my magickal cup of tea.

Recently, I’ve been working with Luxmi Estates Valerian Dream loose leaf tea. Beyond being a beautiful, organic nighttime beverage, it is an absolute powerhouse for dream magick and evening warding.

When doing herbal magick, I always look at the energetic footprint of the plants involved. This blend features a classic, highly effective combination of herbs perfect for nocturnal work:

Valerian Root: The heavy hitter of the blend. In folklore, Valerian is fiercely protective and deeply grounding. It is used to ward off nightmares and negative entities, while simultaneously acting as a heavy anchor to pull you into a deep, restorative, and prophetic sleep.

Chamomile: Carrying the gentle energy of the Sun, Chamomile is the ultimate pacifier. It banishes anxiety and stress, replacing it with a golden, peaceful aura. It prepares the mind to receive messages without fear.

Lavender: Ruled by the element of Air, Lavender is famous for purification and peace. In dreamwork, it helps clear the “astral static,” allowing for more lucid dreams and heightened clairvoyance.

Mint: A refreshing energetic cleanser. Mint cuts through mental fog. In this blend, it acts as a clarifier, ensuring that when you wake, you can clearly remember the visions you received during the night.

You might wonder why I specifically choose the Luxmi Estates brand for my spellwork. First and foremost, this is a loose-leaf blend. In herbal magick, the physical state of the herbs matters. Loose leaf tea requires you to physically scoop, measure, and interact with the plant matter. This tactile connection allows me to charge the herbs with my specific intention—whether that is lucid dreaming, spiritual protection, or simply restful peace—before the water ever touches them.

Luxmi Estates has been cultivating tea since 1912, and this blend is USDA Organic. When doing energy work, purity matters. Knowing that the herbs were grown without synthetic pesticides means there is no “energetic interference.” I am working directly with the pure spirit of the Valerian, Chamomile, and Lavender.

How I Brew for Intention
1. I place one scoop of the Valerian Dream blend into my strainer. Holding it in my palms, I visualize a soft, indigo light enveloping the herbs, setting my intention for the night (e.g., “Bring me clear visions,” or “Shield my spirit while I rest”).

2. As I pour the hot water over the herbs, I watch the color change, visualizing my intention expanding to fill the cup.

3. I stir the tea three times clockwise to invoke sweet dreams and invite positive astral experiences.

4. I drink this tea in silence, away from screens, about thirty minutes before bed. I let the earthy, floral notes ground my physical body while the steam lifts my spiritual awareness.

If you are looking to deepen your dreamwork or simply need a protective, peaceful transition from the waking world to the dreaming one, I highly recommend giving this blend a prominent place on your apothecary shelf.

Sweet dreams and blessed be!

Before you even open the first page, Mexican Magic commands attention. The cover art is a stunning homage to traditional Mexican iconography. At its center rests a flaming Sagrado Corazón (Sacred Heart), enveloped by blooming red roses, lush prickly pear cacti (nopales), and guarded by whimsical yet symbolic skeletal figures.

Laura Davila brings her deep knowledge and authentic lineage to the pages, stripping away mainstream misconceptions about brujeria to reveal a practice rooted in community, nature, and practical necessity.

Unlike dense, purely academic texts, Mexican Magic balances history with action. It offers readers rituals tailored for love, protection, prosperity, and healing. Rooted in traditional folk magic, many of the herbs, candles, and tools required can be found in a standard kitchen or a local botánica. Davila writes with respect and clarity, explaining the why behind the rituals so practitioners can approach the craft with genuine understanding.

What makes Mexican Magic stand out is its versatility. It is a book written “for all occasions,” making it just as valuable for a seasoned bruja looking to reconnect with foundational roots as it is for a beginner taking their very first steps into spellwork.

Whether you are lighting a simple petition candle or setting up a full devotional space, Davila’s warm, authoritative voice acts as a guiding hand. It’s a beautiful reminder that magic isn’t something locked away in history books, it is alive, dynamic, and waiting to be practiced.

GOOD WITCH KEEPING SERIES (Waning Magick)

Welcome!

I find it so important to love your home and care for it the way it ought to be. Almost as much as you love yourself, really. It’s your home, after all. A lot of the time, we get so caught up with fast paced living that we forget to maintain our environment, and often times, we end up feeling the negative energies that stick to the walls of our home. One could honestly compare that to when we don’t do self-care.

Who would want to live in that environment? Or visit it?

So one may ask themselves, what sort of magick should you be conjuring in your home during the waning moon (last quarter)?

We focus on banishing, cleansing, and protection.

We burn incense, we dust, we vacuum. This is a time to focus on spells especially for breaking bad habits.

Below are a few and simple ways to conjure this sort of magick into the home.

Hot House Powder

Instructions:

Combine equal parts in a mortar and pestle. Grind to a fine powder. Burn over charcoal and use a cleansing tool to smudge across the halls and rooms of your home.

OR

You can place the powder in a black drawstring bag, and either place or pour across front/back doors, windows, bedrooms, or at the center of your home.

*Note* – If you cannot find Sulfur, you may substitute with Tobacco.

This Hot House Powder is perfect for cleansing and protecting your home. This is especially good if your home has recently been visited by unwanted guests. That goes for evil spirits as well. Or, your home is being swept by a sickness. Any kind of negativity. As well as, if you feel like black magick is being casted your way.

Breaking A Bad Habit Spell

Instructions:

This spell will give you a good reason to dust around the home, especially when your bad habits are often done at home. Collect the dust you swept and save in a bowl. Combine an equal amount and/or grind the needed herbs together. Mix this powder with the collected dust.

You will need to get the amount of candles to the same amount of bad habits you want to break. Ex: you have 3 bad habits, so you will need 3 candles.

Carve into each candle ONE word that represents the bad habit. Ex: DRUGS. GAMBLING. PROCRASTINATION.

Now, you will need a flat surface. With the powder, you will use it to draw out this symbol below:

Now place the candles along the corners of the sigil. If you are only using one candle, place in the center.

Focus your intentions on each candle when you light it. Allow the candles to burn down, along with your bad habits. See them burn away.

Once the candles are burned down, you may collect the powder and bury it outside from your home.

The spell is done.

Red House Carpet Powder

Instructions:

You will need a 1/2 cup of both the Baking Soda and Borax. Mix together. Then you will add 20-25 drops of Sandalwood Essential Oil. Mix thoroughly. Pour this mixture into the glass container. Then, sprinkle this powder over your carpets. Leave for 15-20 minutes, then vacuum.

I LOVE this Red House Carpet Powder. I use it EVERY time I vacuum. It leaves my carpets smelling so good, and the vibrations practically glow. It cleanses the area, and leaves it with a barrier of protection.

Well, I hope these spells are welcomed and bring forth good blessings.

Waning Moon Spells For The Good Witch Keepers

Dedicating An Animal Spirit

Hello and Welcome!

I’ve recently discovered a ritual that is both beautiful and magickal. If you are one that finds your pet to be special and powerful, then this is the spell for you. If you are also one who finds great purpose in worshiping deities, then this is the ritual for you.

This ritual is dedicating an animal to a specific Spirit. This will create a profound triangular relationship between human, spirit and animal. This ritual derives from indigenous Siberia, but with a twist.

GOOD WITCH KEEPING SERIES

Merry Spring!

So, a new series came to mind while I started my Spring Cleaning. Every proper Witch always uses their magick while tending to their home. If you aren’t, then I highly recommend doing so. It is the perfect way of incorporating and practicing your craft every day. And who wouldn’t want their home sparkling with good vibes and surrounded in protection?

Therefore, I decided to list my own methods. Now, keep in mind, that every Witch has their own practices. This list is merely my own, and what has worked for my house. Either gather some ideas, or blend these practices with your own.

Now, the list is pretty explanatory. But I’ll go over them in detail if one wishes to understand how I came up with these.

New Moons are a time for starting a new cycle again. A complete cleanse from the previous energy, and to create a different sort of goals to take shape. A witch could see this as an opportune time to purify themselves, their ritual tools, altar, and homes. Hence, a good reason why I like to sweep and mop during this week of the New Moon. I love brewing together my own floorwashes and powders to use for this time. More on those recipes later.

Once the Moon begins to wax, energies are growing. Like a seed, goals begin as such. And by the time the Moon is within its first quarter, the energies are sparking. Therefore, this is a great time to burn any kind of drawing incense or simmering pots. In this case, drawing mixes that attracts fortune, luck, health, love, blessings, etc. Normally, I do these sort of drawing magicks for maintaining the positive flow in my home. To keep everyone healthy. Positive luck. Peace and creativity. Etc.

Now, it is no surprise when I write how any hearth/home magick can be done during the Full Moon. Because that is just so. The week leading up to the Full Moon is enhanced with energy. Any magick, whether it is fertility, protection, wealth, banishing, anything, is perfect for this time. So have at it!

Much like the New Moon, energies during the Last Quarter are low, but they are still humming. This is the time to put that power to rest and banish any unwanted energies that may have accumulated during the month. I like to vacuum and dust during this time. Dust bunnies and other nasty dirty particles are what is left of the old negative energies. They harbor and hold onto these remnants, so it’s important to be rid of these to prepare for the New Moon. Breaking Bad Habit spells are perfect during this chore.

I hope you enjoy the list. And keep on the look out, there will be more to the series on the way.

GOOD WITCH KEEPING SERIES!

All Souls Day

Samhain is here again! A new year taking us forward. What does that mean for us witches? Time to pull out the spells and offerings!Getting the home ready with protection charms and decorations! Purifying our lives with cleansing vibrations! Creating glamour spells to spook the trick or treaters. And brewing delicious magickal concoctions of food and drinks! (That last part being my favorite) Speaking of which, let me share this year’s Samhain tea recipe that I’ve blended.

Samhain Tea

Brew this in a pot of tea for several minutes. After steeping, stir the cinnamon stick several times, and add some delicious maple infused milk to the drink, till it’s good and creamy. Enjoy tonight as the trick or treaters come by! And believe in life and its fruitfulness.

Maple Milk

Gently warm the cup of milk in a small saucepan. Once it begins to steam, add the tablespoons of Maple syrup. Be sure not to boil it! Simmer it momentarily, as you stir in the syrup till it blends. Take it off the heat and pour it into a small creamer container. Enjoy with your tea!Oh, how I look forward to this magickal blend later tonight. This tea is meant to engulf us with its courageous influence, as it brings love and joy to our hearts. Life and all its luxuriance. Its meant to sooth us, mend us, and open new paths.

SPELLS!

Now, let’s talk spells! Tonight the Moon is in its last quarter. That means it’s the perfect time to ward off negative energies. Protect the home. Release the past. And divination time!Let’s see, we shall begin with tradition. Samhain is thinning the veil; the worlds between the living and the dead are face to face. They come to us with prayers, messages, or curses. And it is for this reason that we either welcome them, or ward them. Here is a simple ghost blessing spell.

Ghost Blessing

Place offerings of milk and barley outside under the stars to ease the ghosts hunger and to prevent their mischief. The maple infused milk is perfect for honoring the ancestors. Apples can also be buried at crossroads as offerings for the Goddess, or spirits.

Ghost Home Barrier

Place three peeled cloves of garlic in a bowl, together with one handful of pure sea salt, and one handful of fresh rosemary leaves. Grind and mesh ingredients together. Sprinkle them to create a boundary line over which ghosts will not cross. If you so happen to wish to choose this night of all nights to reveal to a ghost its current state of death, well, here is a spell for that.

Grouchy Ghost Spell

Burn three parts wormwood to one part vervain when summoning the ghost who is suffering from a state of depression when they died. Or when they haven’t realized they are dead. Speak softly and gentle. Offer honey to sweeten the news, or offer a plate of food for comfort. Speak as you understand, and try to offer advice and help them see the promise of the other side. It won’t be easy, but you would have to be open with them in order for them to believe you. Trust, it is rewarding when they do.

LAST THOUGHTS

Well may your Samhain be blessed, and the spirits at rest. May the trick or treaters be kind. And the food as good as wine. Have fun! Be merry!

Honor The Sacred Rites Of Samhain

Aura Repair

Let us rejoice towards the waning of the moon!

Beginning today, the last quarter moon is shedding its energy. Turning away from the active energies of the past, to rest and regenerate to begin again. Just as the Moon restores, so shall we. It is time to renew for a new beginning, rest, and then glow again with fresh power. To a turn of a new tide.

What I love to do most during this moon time, is to go to the spa to cleanse and relax. Not only does it feel good for the body, but for the soul. Every room feels like cozy warm blankets. The air carries a zen ambiance that calls to your senses. Seemingly endless pools of liquid heat and rejuvenating jet streams, soothing the muscles and heart. Every chakra point being called to open. Soothing sea salts fill every corner of the steam rooms. And amazingly pink Himalayan salt rooms covering every inch of the room. Resting in one of these rooms not only renews the aura, it centers a psychic’s abilities like chocolate syrup on top of ice cream! You feel so soothed by the end of the spa visit, and vibrant by your fresh energy, you can’t help but end the day with a good cup of tea, and then a peaceful nap. The next day is like seeing a sparkling new world. And your magick can touch and feel all the wonders of the Earth.

I highly recommend the experience! Search for your closest Korean spa, and go! Now! I recommend searching on Groupon. GROUPON has the best deals for Korean spas, and can help find the closest one to your location. So definitely, check it out. Because nothing is more delicious, than living deliciously. Ha!

Oh!

And that tea I mentioned earlier after such an amazing experience at the spa? Well, gladly sip on this tasty treat. This mix blend is a favorite of mine. I drink on this after my spa day. It keeps my spirits up, long after the moon is dark. Blend and enjoy with top quality organic ingredients only. That’s really the only best kind. And please be considerate of your health. Do not take if pregnant or nursing. Nor daily.

Aura Repair Tea

2 cup recipe. Once water is boiled, pour and brew for 5 – 10 minutes. Sweeten with either regular sugar, or I add coconut sugar. Sweetens just the same, although coconut sugar is much more keto friendly, plus it adds protective properties.

For this tea spell; after the herbs are finished brewing, bring the cup into your hands and hover your face over its steam. Inhale deeply, absorbing through the skin, and into the flow of your energy. There is no need for any words or chant. Only to instill within you the calming flow of the tea’s energy. Hold onto this moment for as long as you feel comfortable, then humbly, take a sip. Feel its essence become a part of you. Feel how your energy responds to it. Accept it wholeheartedly. Then rest with it.

I hope you enjoy this tea, and the idea of going to a spa! Give yourself that spa day you surely deserve and need! The results are amazing.

Many blessings, to you all!

Spa Day Every Month!

Spring Equinox Bath Spell

Hi! And welcome!

Rejoice! For Spring has come again! With it, renewal, and new beginnings!

This is a time of sparkling new paths, and time of action towards a fulfilling year. What this Tea Witch’s house has in store is a purifying magickal bath to prepare the mind and heart for a new season, and for whatever Spring has to offer us.

This spell I did under the recent new moon night, however, this spell is also perfect for a day such as the Spring Equinox.

Lately, I’ve been inspired by bath and water magick. I guess it’s the season that’s stirred it. The weather being extra rainy this time of year.

RENEWAL BATH POTION

1/4 palm size Sandalwood, White or Red *You may use the essential oil like I did.
1/4 palm size Willow Bark, White
1/4 palm size Myrrh *Or you may use the essential oil like I did.
1/4 palm size Hemp (medicinal cannabis optional 😉) * For this particular recipe, I’m going to use an oil base.

First I’m brewing the blend in boiling water, then will let it steep, and cool till I’m ready for my bath. I’m calling for prosperous, protective, and transcendent energies.

Then later, I plan on drawing the bath, and blessing it with sea salt. Then use the tea blend to manifest my spell.
I’m going to use this spell to shed away my late seasonal energy, and renew for a greater prosperous and loving season. That is why I chose the Red Sandalwood. Go for White Sandalwood if calling for more of a calm relaxed season.

This is especially a great spell to do now, or night of the Equinox. I’m also going to use the dry herb blend for the same spell. But this time, I will be burying portions of it at each corner of my homeland for the same outcome.

So looking forward for what this new Spring Season is going to bring!

May it also grant you best wishes and hearty joy!

Blessed Be
