GOOD WITCH KEEPING SERIES

Merry Spring!

So, a new series came to mind while I started my Spring Cleaning. Every proper Witch always uses their magick while tending to their home. If you aren’t, then I highly recommend doing so. It is the perfect way of incorporating and practicing your craft every day. And who wouldn’t want their home sparkling with good vibes and surrounded in protection?

Therefore, I decided to list my own methods. Now, keep in mind, that every Witch has their own practices. This list is merely my own, and what has worked for my house. Either gather some ideas, or blend these practices with your own.

Now, the list is pretty explanatory. But I’ll go over them in detail if one wishes to understand how I came up with these.

New Moons are a time for starting a new cycle again. A complete cleanse from the previous energy, and to create a different sort of goals to take shape. A witch could see this as an opportune time to purify themselves, their ritual tools, altar, and homes. Hence, a good reason why I like to sweep and mop during this week of the New Moon. I love brewing together my own floorwashes and powders to use for this time. More on those recipes later.

Once the Moon begins to wax, energies are growing. Like a seed, goals begin as such. And by the time the Moon is within its first quarter, the energies are sparking. Therefore, this is a great time to burn any kind of drawing incense or simmering pots. In this case, drawing mixes that attracts fortune, luck, health, love, blessings, etc. Normally, I do these sort of drawing magicks for maintaining the positive flow in my home. To keep everyone healthy. Positive luck. Peace and creativity. Etc.

Now, it is no surprise when I write how any hearth/home magick can be done during the Full Moon. Because that is just so. The week leading up to the Full Moon is enhanced with energy. Any magick, whether it is fertility, protection, wealth, banishing, anything, is perfect for this time. So have at it!

Much like the New Moon, energies during the Last Quarter are low, but they are still humming. This is the time to put that power to rest and banish any unwanted energies that may have accumulated during the month. I like to vacuum and dust during this time. Dust bunnies and other nasty dirty particles are what is left of the old negative energies. They harbor and hold onto these remnants, so it’s important to be rid of these to prepare for the New Moon. Breaking Bad Habit spells are perfect during this chore.

I hope you enjoy the list. And keep on the look out, there will be more to the series on the way.

New Spring, New Kind of Lemonade!

As promised, I posted not to long ago a recipe that I experimented with. It was the first night of the Spring season, and I felt inspired for something refreshing, and relaxing.

My husband has had a good stash of cannabis in the pile, and I thought it was a good time to medicinally use some of it. That, and I had a good amount of lemons that needed to go.

What are the magickal properties to this wonderful recipe, you might be wondering? Well, my full intention was a good positive purifying recipe, from the lemons. For the cannabis, I used it to bring a deep calming spiritual balance. And of course, the sugar to sweeten and bless.

So, at about one in the morning, I went at it! (I knoooooow, late night owl over here lol).

Here are the ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 6 cups Water
  • 1 1/2 cup lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
  • 1 tbsp Cannabis (or how ever much you prefer. 1 tbsp is pretty mellow per one cup.)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cannabis, and 1 1/2 cup of water. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. 4-5 minutes. Then turn down the heat and let it simmer for 22 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, begin juicing your lemons until you are at 1 1/2 cup of liquid. I like to use a cheesecloth to strain out the pulp. If you’re a pulp person, then never mind this step.
  3. Now, remove the cannabis syrup from the heat, strain, and pour into your pitcher. Stir in lemon juice. Let the syrup cool. Then, add the rest of the water and stir until well combined.
  4. Store in the refrigerator, and enjoy over ice.

*Note* So, for a 1 tbsp of cannabis per one pitcher, I found it to be very relaxing and soothing. It took 3 cups for me to actually feel any other effects, and really, that only helped me sleep deeper. So, if your one that prefers a mellow blend, then this recipe should do. For one that wishes for a stronger effect, add 1 or more tbsp to your sugar water mix.

*Note Note* If you are on a certain diabetic or keto restricted diet, then you can do what I actually did for this recipe. Substitute the cane sugar for your own sugar substitute. In this case, I used monk’s fruit sugar. Same measurement. Yum!

Step 1.

Step 2.

Step.3

I hope you enjoy this blend responsibly, and legally! Have fun!

Cannabis Lemonade Is Our Way to Mellow Yellow!

Feast of Flora

Happy Feast of Flora, everyone!

On this day, we honor those that have past to the underworld. From our ancestors, to those that nearly passed, we give their memory meaning. For them, but also for ourselves. Every day, we face our morality. Either by the face of death, illness, or heartache, we eventually realize the same path we follow. The very same fate our ancestors learned. Because of that, there is comfort that we are not alone to face what is ahead. We shall not fear, for we too will become the next generation of ancestors.

But for now, on this day, we will honor them. We will bring to them flowers from the living, to represent the glory of paradise. And remind those their journey is only the beginning. Their end only a moment of rest. Rebirth is but around the corner. We honor their memory, with love in our hearts. Like those in the future, will one day honor us.

This here is a memory of last year. A message written for my grandmother. Same burning for my ancestors before me. I remember this night well, for I didn’t feel alone. I felt a presence. A spirit that I believe captured in this photo. (Top right)

Well, soon nightfall will be here, and with it, a new ritual to honor my ancestors. I still have the letter to my grandmother, I will burn it tonight and save its ashes for the next year.

I hope this day brings great peace to those who still remember and still honor the old ways.

Great blessings to the ancestors, and to you all.

Blessed Be )○(

Air Magick

Ok! Let’s talk about Air Magick!
I love love love the element of Air. When I was little, that was the first element that called to me. I spent so much time outside, listening to the wind, watching the trees dance from it. And even found peace and nurturing wisdom while I was down. Over time, I learned how to call to each direction. Finding each one delivering a different need and advice.

I found the North wind to hold many memories of the past, and connects to others who are far across. The North wind is powerful and ancient, and takes promises seriously. From that, I developed magicks based on

  • Message Spells
  • Oath Spells
  • Past Life Spells
  • Initiation Spells
  • Memory Spells
  • Growth Spells
  • Wisdom

The East wind was a tremendous help during my years of magickal discovery. Taught me focus and meditation. And whenever I went into the astral world, I found myself always facing East. From this I learned to connect to my intuition naturally. Which then developed

  • Psychic Spells
  • Astral Travel
  • Spirit Contact
  • Mental Spells
  • Manifesting Spells
  • Travel
  • Knowledge Spells

The South wind has always felt like a challenger to face. It summons courage and demands respect. Almost like facing a warrior that assesses your strength and vulnerabilities. Expecting you to search for your inner power. With this powerful wind, I found

  • Self Power Spells
  • Heightened Power Spells
  • Courage Spells
  • Road Opener Spells
  • Success
  • Commanding Spells
  • Lover Spells
  • Breaking a Habit

The West wind has always been a friend and ally for me. Having been helped by it on more than one occasion, my heart has always been opened to it. That is why, it is the wind of the heart and has inspired spells related to such matters.

  • Healing Spells
  • Love Spells
  • Peace Spells
  • Happiness Spells
  • Truth Spells
  • Purification Spells

And so much more to discover as you work and meditate with each wind.
Now each wind has a God/Lord assigned to each. Through many cultures, they have been called numerous names. I personally use their Greek names. Something about them had called to me. They are called

The Anemoi

Boreas – Who is of the North Wind Special Offerings: Stone Piles
Formally called on high peaks.

Eurus – Who is of the East Wind Special Offerings: Incense of Sage & Bay
Formally called in open valleys/meadows.

Notus – Who is of the South Wind Special Offerings: Bonfire or Flame
Formally called in dry sunny areas.

Zephyrus – Who is of the West Wind Special Offerings: Libations
Formally called by ocean waters.

And Aeolus is the God of Air and the Winds all together.

Special Offerings: An altar dedicated to him with all elements from above. Call to him on an area that incorporates all winds. Somewhere high where they can meet.
Of course, they can still be called in a pinch, from wherever you are, but your intentions must be loud and clear. And if your offering is special, all the better.

Now, let’s discuss how we invoke the wind. A breeze.
There are many different methods. You’d be surprise by how much others had created in order to summon the wind.
In fact, I’m sure everyone has tried a different way.
I will cover two of my own wind calling spells here, and other spells that I’ve seen and tried.

SPELL 1

I created this when I was young was easier for me at that time to do when I was outside. I would draw in the ground the symbol of air, and a rune within it. Come to find out later in life, that it was the Dagaz symbol for dawn. And call the wind for a heavy breeze. After practicing this for a while, I found that over time I no longer needed to draw the symbol in the ground, but easily visualized it in my mind’s eye, and then would call out to the wind. As a child I didn’t formally call to it, only spoke to it in a friendly manner. But when I grew older, I started to chant out in either ancient Norse (Icelandic) or in Latin. This is what I would say in order to call the wind to rise.

“Vindur Haekkun”

(The picture of the symbol below)

SPELL 2

When I wished for not only wind, but clouds, and even rain. A good gloomy day really. And that was braiding my hair. I use to braid my hair and imagine the weather I wanted. I would do this until I was done. I’d keep my hair braided for the day. And either when night came or morning, I unbraided it. Visualizing the magick/wind releasing. I often got good results from this, and ended up giddy. Lol

Other spells I’ve seen had often used tools or herbs.

SPELL 3

One was using a broom. Sometimes being specifically made and enchanted to call the winds. This broom would be thrown in the air. Preferably on a hill, to summon the winds. And then being burned to stop them, or to stop a bad storm. Then buried in the ground.

SPELL 4

Another was using grains of paradise (an herb), and tossing it to each direction to call for favorable winds. The same can be done with rice even. And wishes can be made the same time. But that’s not good for the birds.

SPELL 5

The last spell I’ve seen for this, is actually quite nifty and enjoyed testing it. It had called for a naturally made clay jar with a cork. Preferably one that was made by you, but its not needed. Still worked for me. Then a wind symbol was drawn on it, or in my case, I simply painted the words WIND on it. On a windy day, go outside, and open the jar. And as soon as the wind stops blowing, cork the jar. On a different day, when wind is needed, go outside, and open the jar. A wind should pick up after doing so. This was amazing to test and do. Sadly, my jar had fallen over and broke surprisingly. And I never went and got a new one. But this is recommended to try!

That’s what I got so far. So go ahead and practice with these! And if you have anything similar, please share!

Enjoy trying some awesome Air Magick!

WIND SPELLS!

Spring Equinox Bath Spell

Hi! And welcome!

Rejoice! For Spring has come again! With it, renewal, and new beginnings!

This is a time of sparkling new paths, and time of action towards a fulfilling year. What this Tea Witch’s house has in store is a purifying magickal bath to prepare the mind and heart for a new season, and for whatever Spring has to offer us.

This spell I did under the recent new moon night, however, this spell is also perfect for a day such as the Spring Equinox.

Lately, I’ve been inspired by bath and water magick. I guess it’s the season that’s stirred it. The weather being extra rainy this time of year.

RENEWAL BATH POTION

1/4 palm size Sandalwood, White or Red *You may use the essential oil like I did.
1/4 palm size Willow Bark, White
1/4 palm size Myrrh *Or you may use the essential oil like I did.
1/4 palm size Hemp (medicinal cannabis optional 😉) * For this particular recipe, I’m going to use an oil base.

First I’m brewing the blend in boiling water, then will let it steep, and cool till I’m ready for my bath. I’m calling for prosperous, protective, and transcendent energies.

Then later, I plan on drawing the bath, and blessing it with sea salt. Then use the tea blend to manifest my spell.
I’m going to use this spell to shed away my late seasonal energy, and renew for a greater prosperous and loving season. That is why I chose the Red Sandalwood. Go for White Sandalwood if calling for more of a calm relaxed season.

This is especially a great spell to do now, or night of the Equinox. I’m also going to use the dry herb blend for the same spell. But this time, I will be burying portions of it at each corner of my homeland for the same outcome.

So looking forward for what this new Spring Season is going to bring!

May it also grant you best wishes and hearty joy!

Blessed Be

Spring Bath Potion

Spring Equinox Incense

Welcome!

So today’s post is simply a recipe of my Spring Equinox incense. I use this incense for my Spring morning prayer. And also during my day ritual.

Before I begin blending, I light a candle to open the doorway. As I blend the herbs and oil together, I begin chanting all the names that mainly the Goddess goes upon to summon the female element/energy to this incense. Spring has a female aura to it, in my opinion.

As you blend, be sure your also checking on the candle’s flame. Most believe that in a still room, when a candle flame flickers, you have a divine presence in your company. Fortunate enough, my candle flickered.
