GOOD WITCH KEEPING SERIES

Merry Spring!

So, a new series came to mind while I started my Spring Cleaning. Every proper Witch always uses their magick while tending to their home. If you aren’t, then I highly recommend doing so. It is the perfect way of incorporating and practicing your craft every day. And who wouldn’t want their home sparkling with good vibes and surrounded in protection?

Therefore, I decided to list my own methods. Now, keep in mind, that every Witch has their own practices. This list is merely my own, and what has worked for my house. Either gather some ideas, or blend these practices with your own.

Now, the list is pretty explanatory. But I’ll go over them in detail if one wishes to understand how I came up with these.

New Moons are a time for starting a new cycle again. A complete cleanse from the previous energy, and to create a different sort of goals to take shape. A witch could see this as an opportune time to purify themselves, their ritual tools, altar, and homes. Hence, a good reason why I like to sweep and mop during this week of the New Moon. I love brewing together my own floorwashes and powders to use for this time. More on those recipes later.

Once the Moon begins to wax, energies are growing. Like a seed, goals begin as such. And by the time the Moon is within its first quarter, the energies are sparking. Therefore, this is a great time to burn any kind of drawing incense or simmering pots. In this case, drawing mixes that attracts fortune, luck, health, love, blessings, etc. Normally, I do these sort of drawing magicks for maintaining the positive flow in my home. To keep everyone healthy. Positive luck. Peace and creativity. Etc.

Now, it is no surprise when I write how any hearth/home magick can be done during the Full Moon. Because that is just so. The week leading up to the Full Moon is enhanced with energy. Any magick, whether it is fertility, protection, wealth, banishing, anything, is perfect for this time. So have at it!

Much like the New Moon, energies during the Last Quarter are low, but they are still humming. This is the time to put that power to rest and banish any unwanted energies that may have accumulated during the month. I like to vacuum and dust during this time. Dust bunnies and other nasty dirty particles are what is left of the old negative energies. They harbor and hold onto these remnants, so it’s important to be rid of these to prepare for the New Moon. Breaking Bad Habit spells are perfect during this chore.

I hope you enjoy the list. And keep on the look out, there will be more to the series on the way.

Spring Equinox Magick

Hi! And welcome!

Rejoice! For Spring has come again! With it, renewal, and new beginnings!

This is a time of sparkling new paths, and time of action towards a fulfilling year. What this Tea Witch’s house has in store is a purifying magickal bath to prepare the mind and heart for a new season, and for whatever Spring has to offer us.

This spell I did under the recent new moon night, however, this spell is also perfect for a day such as the Spring Equinox.

Lately, I’ve been inspired by bath and water magick. I guess it’s the season that’s stirred it. The weather being extra rainy this time of year.

RENEWAL BATH POTION

1/4 palm size Sandalwood, White or Red
1/4 palm size Willow Bark, White
1/4 palm size Myrrh
1/4 palm size Hemp (medicinal cannabis optional 😉) * For this particular recipe, I’m going to use an oil base.

First I’m brewing the blend in boiling water, then will let it steep, and cool till I’m ready for my bath. I’m calling for prosperous, protective, and transcendent energies.

Then later, I plan on drawing the bath, and blessing it with sea salt. Then use the tea blend to manifest my spell.
I’m going to use this spell to shed away my late seasonal energy, and renew for a greater prosperous and loving season. That is why I chose the Red Sandalwood. Go for White Sandalwood if calling for more of a calm relaxed season.

This is especially a great spell to do now, or night of the Equinox. I’m also going to use the dry herb blend for the same spell. But this time, I will be burying portions of it at each corner of my homeland for the same outcome.

So looking forward for what this new Spring Season is going to bring!

May it also grant you best wishes and hearty joy!

Blessed Be

Virgo Moon! Sugar and Tea Blends

Hello and welcome to another short article for this Full Moon’s in Virgo magick stream.

I’ve always felt strongly drawn to Virgos, perhaps because my father is one. But, I believe it is also because Virgo’s carry a sense of strength like non other in the zodiac. It’s almost regal and their determination for seeking their inner truth is noteworthy.

Because of this, I decided to dedicate a tea blend for Virgos. In no way does this mean that only Virgos can drink it however. This is for anyone who wishes to seek their own inner truth.

I chose these specific teas for good reason on this full moon night. One being they each incorporate the essence of Virgo, and the Moon. Virgos are ruled by the planet Mercury, and are the element of Earth.

Lavender, in my opinion, represents all that it means to be Virgo. The flower of Mercury, it evokes chastity, peace, love, and protection.

Mugwort, being Artemis’s Herb, is also an herb of Earth. Perfect in bringing Virgo and the Moon together.

Lastly, dried Peaches. The tie that binds this blend together. This fuzzy little fruit is the Moon’s eye, and not only is it used for love and intuition, it obtains truth. So naturally, pair these all together to find your inner truth.

Here is the recipe I used for a 2 cup portion.

  • 1/2 tsp Lavender
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Peaches
  • 1/8 tsp Mugwort

If the flavor is a bit bland from the Mugwort, add a couple of pinches of coconut sugar. Yummy!

*don’t drink if pregnant or allergic. Expect lucid dreaming, and a very mild head high. Don’t drink beyond 3 days, or more than a pot of tea.*

Now, you can’t have tea without including a sweet hot bath to pair with it.

This recipe was perfect at the end of the night. Especially to align yourself with the full moon energy, and prepare your journey to inner truth. By all means, however, take this bath whenever you like.

The recipes consists of half coconut sugar, and half powdered milk. And I then added 15 drops of Bergamot essential oil. If you wish for more however, or less, that’s up to you. Although, be vigilant, since Bergamot is photosensitive. So, immediately shower after the bath. Or, even consider using earl grey tea. I would have, but I ran out of my favorite brand.

Anyways, Great Moon Blessings everyone, and enjoy the recipes!

Angel’s Water Recipe

Greetings and Merry Meet!

Angel Water, or otherwise known as Aphrodite Water, has been a traditional recipe passed down in my family. However, my grandmother called it el agua de Angel. After many years and research, and much to my surprise, I came across it in different writings but all the same recipe. It was a thrilling find.
El agua de Angel was a face toner and bath water in my family, but through my research I learned that it is often used in beauty spells and aphrodisiacs. Made a lot of sense when I found that out. Lol. Many of my aunts found good husbands.

Other than to inspire love, it can also be used to cleanse the love between a couple. As well as cleansing for self-love.

My grandmother used to create the recipe using floral water and an infusion of the leaves and roots. Blending them together just right to create the tonic. It is a longer process, but the smell was enchanting and fresh.

The recipe consists of mostly Myrtle. A small tree, often with white, pink to purple flowers. My grandmother used the flowers, leaves, and stems. It is this tree that invoked the magical properties of love and beauty. In my studies, this is also a sacred tree to Aphrodite. Depending on how much your making, make certain that the recipe has a little more than half of Myrtle in it.

~El agua de Angel Recipe~

(using floral water & infusions)
Myrtle flowers, leaves, and stems

Orange Blossoms

Roses

Lavender

Trefoil flowers

Angelica Root

There is no definite measurement. This is because the maker of this tonic has to judge it by smell. The way I see it, your heart will know when the fusion is perfect.

~Angel Water recipe~

(Using essential oils)
21 drops of Myrtle

15 drops of Neroli

9 drops of   Rose

Again this is not a definite measurement. You will need to call it by heart.

So have fun with this. And enjoy!
