Mental Focus Tea

Boil a cup of water, and when finished, pour over herbs and allow to steep for 5 minutes. As the tea brews, chant over the cup:

“By fire and air, my mind be swift. No longer will my focus stay in a twist.”

Enjoy the invigorating flavor of refreshing zest with this tea. As well as mental clarity and energy renewal.

A wonderful iced tea version of my tea that is even better!

  • 8 large lemons, washed and cut in half
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 10 sprigs of fresh mint
  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • Pinch of mustard seed

Boil the 8 cups of water, and when ready, pour over all ingredients. Stir, and allow to steep for 30 minutes. Strain and then store in the fridge. Pour over ice, and enjoy!

Angel’s Water Recipe

Greetings and Merry Meet!

Angel Water, or otherwise known as Aphrodite Water, has been a traditional recipe passed down in my family. However, my grandmother called it el agua de Angel. After many years and research, and much to my surprise, I came across it in different writings but all the same recipe. It was a thrilling find.

El agua de Angel was a face toner and bath water in my family, but through my research I learned that it is often used in beauty spells and aphrodisiacs. Made a lot of sense when I found that out. Many of my aunts found good husbands.

Other than to inspire love, it can also be used to cleanse the love between a couple. As well as cleansing for self-love.

My grandmother used to create the recipe using floral water and an infusion of the leaves and roots. Blending them together just right to create the tonic. It is a longer process, but the smell was enchanting and fresh.

The recipe consists of mostly Myrtle. A small tree, often with white, pink to purple flowers. My grandmother used the flowers, leaves, and stems. It is this tree that invoked the magical properties of love and beauty. In my studies, this is also a sacred tree to Aphrodite. Depending on how much your making, make certain that the recipe has a little more than half of Myrtle in it.

Winter Solstice Tea

1 tsp Chamomile

1 tsp Sage or few sprigs

1 Vanilla bean (I ground it)

And honey for flavor

Instructions:

Steep the ingredients in one cup of boiled water for 5-6 minutes. Strain and add honey and/or milk if you wish.

Sugar Cookie Recipe

  1. 2 1/4 cups flour
  2. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  3. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. 1 1/2 cups sugar (plus more for rolling the dough in)
  6. 2 ounces cream cheese room temperature and cubed
  7. 6 Tablespoons butter, melted and warm
  8. 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  9. 1 egg
  10. 2 teaspoons vanilla
  11. 1 Tablespoon whole milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, if you don’t have parchment paper, lightly oil the baking sheet.
  2. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.. Set aside.
  3. Place the sugar in a medium bowl. Place the cream cheese on top and pour the melted, warm butter over the top. Whisk to combine. There may be a few lumps of cream cheese that remain but they’ll be incorporated when other ingredients are mixed in.
  4. Whisk the oil in until well incorporated.. Stir in the egg, vanilla, and milk.
  5. Add the flour mixture and fold it in until a smooth dough forms.
  6. Roll 2 tablespoons of dough into 24 balls. Roll each ball into the extra sugar. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet. Using the bottom of a flat drinking glass, slightly flatten each cookie until they are 2 inches in diameter.
  7. Bake for 11-13 minutes, turning the pan halfway through baking. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes before removing to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Friendship Tea

And honey

On special occasions, I love to add a beautiful orchid.

Heat water to 170 – 185 degrees. Pour over the mix, and brew for 3 minutes before enjoying. If you want a stronger brew, steep the flowers and zest for 5 minutes, then add the white tea for another 2 minutes.

As the tea is brewing, I chant over the pot:

Brew of flowery delight, bring together friendships might.

A delicious scone recipe to compliment this tea, would be a sweet fruit scone.

A Friendship Tea Spell

Samhain Tea Recipe

Great Samhain Blessings!

Today, in our modern calendar, marks Halloween! Also called Samhain. Pronounced Sow-wen, or Sow-ween, is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, or the “darker half” of the year. Amongst witches, it is considered the new spiritual year. Being because, on this holy day, the spirits of the otherworld are allowed to visit the living and sow their old seeds. And with that our living souls are given new goals, dreams, and lessons to be taken in.

Because our dear departed return to us on this holy night, it is tradition to pay them honor. We give them offerings of sliced apples, blessed tea, milk,  or barley. We light candles and place them on our window sills to light the way. We carve frightening pumpkins  to scare off the mischief of troublesome spirits. And renew the barriers around our homes to prepare for winter.

SAMHAIN TEA RECIPE

First Harvest Tea

WELCOME!

Today marks the first harvest as some would also associate this day as Lammas. This is a time of special blessings to family and friends when all come together to share a feast of breads and meal. Before such a gathering, the crops are harvested, and blessed with the energies of man and nature. These blessings are to summon good fortune for the coming Autumn Season.

Today, my husband and I have prepared a meal for two. We will light a blessing candle and share this feast in love and in balance. Last night, I created a dessert to fit the occasion. A delicious banana pudding. And to partake alongside such a scrumptious treat, I made a brew of tea to fill our minds and soul with creative wisdom.

Tis a perfect brew to share with friends and loved ones with some delicious breads and treats.

Creative Wisdom Tea

  • 1/4 cup of pitted Cherries (frozen, fresh, or canned)
  • 1 teaspoon of dried Sage (or 1 tablespoon of fresh)
  • 1 Black Tea bag.
  • slice of Lemon
  • add honey to your liking

*Recipe is per 1 cup.
*It is also delicious over ice, but if one wishes to make it this way, the recipe must be doubled.

Bring the cherries to a boil in a sauce pan, then simmer and steep for about 20-30 minutes. Afterwards, strain the fruit through a sieve, pressing the cherries. Discard the cherries, or do what I love to do and puree them for morning shakes (waste not). Return strained mixture to saucepan and bring to a slow boil. Add sage and tea and allow it to steep away from the heat for 5-10 minutes (the longer it steeps, the stronger the flavor). Strain the sage and tea, and add honey to sweeten and magically blend the brew together. Add a slice of lemon and enjoy!

Every time I brew a tea, I always say a prayer to bless it for the occasion. In this case, the chant was:

In this pot I enchant and brew,
A spell that is pure and true.
I conjure wisdom and creativity,
In this tea that honors the divinity.
As we drink, the magick shall spread.
Creativity and wisdom shall be our friend.

So, brothers and sisters, have a beautiful first harvest and Lammas! Blessings to one and all!

FIRST HARVEST TEA RECIPE!

Remembering The One’s Who Have Passed + Spell

Welcome!

Not many know that April 28th is a time for honor and remembering those who have passed in your life. If not family or friends, then to the ancestors who have helped guide you through life.

Use this day to communicate with those spirits. However, please always keep it safe when it comes to Spirit spells. Consider casting a protection circle with either salt, candles, or a barrier infusion.

Spirit Communication Spell

Combine together
3 parts Wormwood
1 part Vervain
A small piece of paper with the spirit’s name (cut into small pieces)

Instructions:

Grind. All the while, empowering the mix with your energy and memories of the spirit(s).
When ready, cast your protection circle, then with either a black candle, a piece of charcoal, or a burning bonfire, burn the mix.

Chant:

 Et vocavi vos, (spirit’s name)

(I summon you, (spirit’s name))

Continue chanting until you feel a presence.

I highly recommend to leave an offering! Most give apples, barley, and milk. I prefer to give Lavender Tea with some extra sweet honey! Lavender tea, to me, is such a beautiful symbol of peace and rest, what better tea for the spirits to enjoy.

Now, I know that the idea of communicating with a spirit is quite intimidating. That’s alright to feel that way. Rather instead, cook a meal, bake bread or cookies! Dedicate the whole banquet to the spirits and ancestors. Have a place at the table empty with a plate and offerings!

Well happy tidings all! Have a truly blessed day and night!
